Fun Class: V for Vase

Chloe asked "what are we learning in this lesson?"
I replied "V for Vase".
She didn't really understand the meaning of  "vase", I showed her the picture of a vase, but she might had thought that was a bottle......

We started the lesson after singing Greeting Song.

We had a quick revision on the objects with the beginning sound of V by looking at the pictures she had done in the previous lesson. She pointed to the pictures and named the pictures. If you would like to download all the pictures spelled after A - Z, click here.

We listened to the phonics sound and song of letter V, which went like this:
Veronica vacuum v, v, v.....
v is the sound of V!

She traced the upper and lower case of letter V.

I added one more worksheet for her, where she identified words with the beginning sound of V. You can download this kind of worksheet from the internet easily, just search the letter you want.

I prompted her to write "vase", her letter E was so funny to have so many extra lines......

The craft work for this lesson was making a vase using the following materials:

Paste the cut out shape of a vase on the toilet paper roll. Decorate it with the cut out heart shapes.
She was so engrossed with her work.

Colour the cut out flowers, paste a straw behind the 'flower' using adhesive tape as shown in the picture below:

Stick the vase on a cupboard, and put the 'flowers' into the vase. Da dah! This is the completed work!
Chloe was so excited about her flowers and vase, she couldn't wait to show it to her daddy and brother. She even told me she wanted to give the flowers to her teachers the next day. She surely understands the meaning of  "vase" and remember it after this lesson. Ha!

The closing song is the same song as the previous lesson. Sing the song and point to the vegetables picture done in the previous lesson.
